rewrite this title in spanish YouTube highlights brand partnerships with sports creators
rewrite Listen to the article 2 min This audio is auto-generated. Please let us know if you have feedback. Amid the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026, YouTube for Business published a report which looks at the rising influence of sports creators in the app. The study also examined and how sports influencers can drive positive benefits for brand partnership campaigns.
YouTube’s latest Creator Pulse overview shared notes on some of the most successful examples of sports creators, while also providing guidance on how brands can partner with sports creators. As per YouTube: “With 66% of surveyed Gen Z respondents who are sports fans agreeing that they enjoy going to YouTube to watch related content before and after watching live sports, the surround sound of the game has become a core part of the fandom.”
Underlining this, YouTube highlighted Norwegian soccer player Erling Haaland as a key YouTube creator who could offer potential partnership exposure in the app. Haaland is an established YouTube creator who has 3.29 million subscribers, and he regularly posts updates to the platform to connect with his fans. YouTube also highlighted social media influencer, sports commentator and former college basketball player Rachel DeMita as an example of how athletes are using YouTube to build their own media platforms. The report underlined the value of YouTube as a key connector among sports fans, which could spark more creative ideas for marketers who want to tap into this opportunity to fuel their own promotions.
YouTube said marketers can align their brands with sports influencers through ad options such as Takeovers, which allow brands to pay for custom messages from creators, and YouTube Select Line-ups, which enable ad placement alongside some of the app’s top-performing content.
YouTube added additional sports categories to its Select line-up in October.
Sports remains a key connective vehicle for billions of people, and as such, the opportunity for associated marketing is significant. in spanish
rewrite this title in spanish Snapchat announces new awards show designed to spotlight creators
rewrite Snapchat has announced a new awards show for Snap creators called “The Snappys,” which will recognize and highlight in-app talent.
Snapchat said The Snappys will celebrate the creators shaping culture on Snapchat, adding that the show will honor creative excellence, cultural impact and community-building across the platform.
Snappy awards will be handed out to Snapchat creators who excel in categories including entertainment, comedy, music, sports and beauty, according to a Feb. 25 announcement from the company. As per Snapchat: “Taking place on March 31 at Snapchat’s Santa Monica headquarters, The Snappys will bring together creators, industry leaders, and special guests for an evening focused on the voices, stories, and creativity resonating most with our community. The show will be hosted by comedian and Snap Star Matt Friend, who has built his own community on Snapchat and will bring his signature voice and comedic flair to the evening.”
The event will also include a lifetime achievement award for DJ Khaled, who has long been associated with Snapchat, using it to showcase his lifestyle.
DJ Khaled’s Snapchat account first rose to fame in 2015, when he documented his misadventure of getting lost while jet skiing in Miami, according to NME. That video solidified him as a must-follow for many Snapchat users, with his raw posting style winning over the app’s audience.
Snapchat said The Snappys will also include awards such as Spotlight MVP, for the best short-form video creator; Best Storyteller in the app; and Breakout Creator of the Year.
“Together, these honors reflect the many ways creators spark conversations, build community, and define culture on Snapchat,” Snapchat said. “The Snappys reinforces Snapchat’s ongoing commitment to celebrating creators not just as users, but as artists, entertainers, and cultural leaders.”
It’s another way to highlight the best of Snapchat, and with the app’s growth slowing, and even shrinking in key markets, Snap needs to do more to highlight the best content in the app, in order to maximize interest.
Maybe The Snappys will provide another stage for this, which could help to get more people looking Snapchat’s way. in spanish
rewrite this title in spanish X Adds Starter Packs to Help Users Find Relevant Creators
rewrite It’s taken it a while to catch up, but X is now latching onto the “Starter Packs” trend that was first popularized by Bluesky back in 2024.
Starter Packs make it easier for new users to find relevant people to follow in a specific niche, which is helpful for new users when they first open an account. Discovery was a particular focus on Bluesky, given the variances in usernames from other platforms, so it launched Starter Packs in various niches and interests to help people make the switch to the app. And now, X has its own variation, called, creatively, “Starterpacks” (the lack of a space between the words is the differentiator). Interesting to see “Meme coins” highlighted here, considering that these communities were recently targeted by X’s latest anti-spam updates. As explained by X’s head of product Nikita Bier: “Over the last few months, we scoured the world for the top posters in every niche & country We’ve compiled them into a new tool called Starterpacks: to help new users find the best accounts – big or small – for their interests.”
I mean, he could have at least mentioned Bluesky and acknowledged its work here, but whatever.
So now, you can easily find the most respected voices to follow on X, or the most active at least, which will help you populate your feed with relevant content, and help X’s algorithm better understand what you’re interested in, and what it should be looking to show you from across the app. Which could be relevant for some niches. Like conspiracy theorists, or morons, or both. But for most, I’m not sure that discovery is so much the problem, as most people are pretty familiar with what’s on offer on X. But then again, discovery has always been a challenge, with Twitter acknowledging way back in 2015 that at least part of its growth issues related to difficulties in people understanding the app, and how to find relevant follows. And with Bier targeting new user growth specifically, this does make sense, and it could be a valuable addition.
And when you also consider that the average X user only sees 20-30 posts per day, any expanded discovery, and improved relevance, can only be beneficial for driving engagement, while X also sees an additional 100 million or so new posts added to the platform every day, so there should be no shortage of niche updates.
Also worth noting: Threads also has its own version of starter packs, which is launched in December 2024. So eventually, they all become the same, at least in a functional context. Bier says that starterpacks are being rolled out “in the coming weeks,” while you can get early access to some starterpacks here. in spanish
rewrite this title in spanish Instagram Restricts Live Streaming to Creators With 1,000 or More Followers
rewrite Yeah, this is not going to go down well with smaller creators on Instagram.
Over the past few weeks, you may have seen this notification pop-up in your IG feed (via Social Varsity): Yes, Instagram has increased its follower requirements for live-streaming, which will mean that users who haven’t grown their account to a certain level will no longer be able to broadcast in the app. Which will be a significant blow to many smaller creators who use IG Live for varying purpose, and have been able to connect to smaller groups via live-streams. Now, you’ll have to do video calls instead. Which, if you only have 1,000 followers, will probably work anyway, but that’ll also reduce any discoverability benefits that come from live-streaming on IG.
So why the change?
I asked Meta about the update, and it told me… nothing.
Meta didn’t get back to me with an explanation on the update, so I can only speculate on the possible reasons. For one, live-streaming is expensive to support, and maybe Meta decided that it’s not worth paying to fund live-streams with only eight viewers. People can also use live-streams for less than savory purpose, by creating a new account, referring people to it, then broadcasting NSFW material. If it gets banned, so be it, and maybe, by increasing the threshold to 1,000 followers, that’ll eliminate those who may be looking to use its tools for this purpose.
It could also help to increase the quality of live-streams, by ensuring that only people with some sort of audience can broadcast. Like, you’re less likely to be a full kook if you have at least a thousand people following you, and maybe, that could then increase the overall perception of streaming as a medium.
The change also brings IG more into line with the live-streaming requirements of other platforms. On TikTok, users also need to have 1,000 followers to be able to live-stream, while YouTubers need at least 50 subscribers, which, considering the viewer-to-subscriber ratio, is probably about the same thing.
YouTube also recently increased the age limit of live-streaming in the app to 16, the same age restriction that IG implemented back in April. So there’s been broader action on live-streaming in general, for seemingly various reasons, and this is just another update along the same lines.
Which, again, is bad news for smaller creators, but maybe you’ll just have to put more time into building an audience before you broadcast. in spanish
