What does it take to build brand awareness?
In the old days, a steady drumbeat of messaging across a few audience-preferred channels might have done the trick. Today, we have brand mascots faking forbidden romances, sponsored dance challenges and internet beefs over—ironically enough—chicken sandwiches.
Building a memorable brand takes some big swings but you have to walk before you can run. To help, we’re breaking down the why and how behind driving and measuring brand awareness.
What is brand awareness?
Brand awareness is the extent to which audiences are familiar with your brand and its product or services. It is the bedrock of your sales funnel. After all, you need to be able to recognize a brand to trust and buy from it.
A high level of brand awareness is the competitive edge that keeps a business top of mind for consumers. Brands with high levels of consumer recognition can even become synonymous with their product. For example, when someone needs to fix a permanent writing mistake, they’re usually not asking for “correction fluid”; they’re asking for Wite-Out.
Of course, achieving that level of brand recognition is a lofty goal. Our advice? Start where you are. Focus on building awareness within targeted audiences and grow from there.
Why is brand awareness important?
Every customer journey begins with the same step. That step is brand awareness.

Jokes aside, your brand awareness strategy will set the tone for a person’s entire experience with your brand. Start things out on the right foot, and you could be sowing the seeds for your next crop of brand advocates.
If that’s not enough, don’t worry—it’s not even the best part.
As your brand awareness strategy matures, you’ll soon find that the most effective awareness drivers don’t come from your official brand channels: they come from your fans. Our research shows that the most effective purchase drivers on social media are recommendations from friends, comments and product reviews and familiarity with a brand. Akeeme Hogg Social Media and Email Marketing Lead, ServiceMaster Brands Combine positive brand sentiment with high brand recognition and you get fans. Fans beget more fans. Brand awareness truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
How to measure brand awareness
Connecting brand awareness to ROI can feel like trying to explain how to get from Chicago to San Francisco by foot. Sure, it’s doable but it’s pretty complicated.
The classic marketing funnel looks straightforward but in reality, every customer journey is different and some can be much longer than others. Trying to track and assign value to every interaction between awareness and purchase simply isn’t the best use of anyone’s time.
Just because you can’t put an exact dollar value on your awareness efforts doesn’t mean they should go untracked. There are actually quite a few ways to track your efforts as you pilot new awareness strategies. Here are some of our favorites that you can try.
Brand surveys
Brand surveys are routine (often biannual) surveys that assess what an audience thinks and feels about your brand. Data from brand surveys can be used to track brand perception over time, providing businesses with the insights needed to shape their company’s image in the right direction.
Unfortunately, these surveys take weeks (if not months) to design and distribute. If you want more timely data, you’ll want to supplement a brand survey with the following options.
Website traffic
Tracking month-over-month differences in web traffic isn’t an exact measurement of brand awareness. However, it’s much easier to connect web traffic to ROI making it a management-preferred reporting metric.
As you test out new brand awareness tactics, use Google Analytics to see how those changes impact growth in new users. That will give you a rough estimate of how your efforts translated to site traffic.
Social listening
Every day, people turn to social to rant and rave about the companies they love—and the ones they don’t. The right social listening tool can help you synthesize that chatter into timely, actionable brand insights. If you use Sprout’s social listening tool, here are just a few of the metrics you can pull to understand how conversations are trending around your brand: Total message volume tracks the total amount of messages shared around your brand.
Sentiment summary measures how people are feeling about your brand and whether or not it’s trending positively.
Share of voice compares your brand’s market share on social to its top competitors. 12 proven strategies to increase brand awareness with social media
Social is a go-to channel for raising brand awareness. But how do you become a familiar face within your followers’ feeds versus someone they just scroll past?
There’s no one correct answer to that question. The truth is, the options are as limitless as your creativity. If you want to use social media for brand awareness, use these 12 ideas to jumpstart your efforts. From fine-tuning your profile to experimenting with your content, any combination of these tips will help you rise above the noise.
1. Give your social presence some personality
First things first: your social media presence shouldn’t look like everyone else’s.
One of the most persistent social media marketing myths is that only certain industries can have a “fun” social presence. Fast food, retail, sports—those brands can get experimental. Everyone else has to play it safe.
That couldn’t be more wrong.
If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation’s social strategy. Side effects include
-rough hair-dry skin -broken friendships -crop and habitat damage
— Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (@OKWildlifeDept) October 13, 2022 It would be easy for them to just share some cute animal pictures every now and then. However, it’s their off-the-wall personality that’s made them so endearing to followers.
And “personal” is the keyword here. Followers want to see more than promos and links: they want personal, human-centric content. Maybe that’s why the “man on the street” style interviews are exploding on TikTok. The social team at Triple Whale took notice of the trend and made it work for their brand. Now, they’ve amassed over 2 million views on TikTok.
Marketers are told time and time again to create “unique” content. It might sound corny, but the person behind your social presence represents a one-of-a-kind voice.
Before you hit “post,” make a point to ask yourself: “Does this sound like something a bot would say?”
2. Fine-tune your profiles
Recognition is a key element of building brand awareness.
When followers glance at your social profiles, they should be able to understand the basics of your brand, its purpose and its personality.
From social bios to profile images, how you set up your profile determines whether or not people recognize you. For example, check out how Hinge has their Twitter profile set up. Brands only get a few seconds to grab someone’s attention and tell a quick story. By using their cover photo as a chance to reinforce their purpose and tagline, Hinge gets their message across quickly.
If you can’t sum up your brand ethos in a few characters and 1500×500 pixels, don’t worry. A clean, well-optimized profile and photo are enough to establish your brand with new audiences.
3. Make your posts pop
Here’s a common thread between most of our brand awareness tips: a bit of creativity can score you major brownie points with followers.
For example, check out how Bloom Nutrition makes use of their signature pink and green across a variety of post formats on Instagram.
This visual content strategy reinforces their brand regardless of whether or not a user actually watches their videos in full.
Don’t have eye-popping images featuring your products? No problem. The principle of making your posts pop rings true in content marketing, too.
Notice how Sprout’s blog posts are all coupled with these colorful illustrations instead of generic stock photos? Or how brands like Hubspot couple important announcements with graphics instead of just using text? Anything you can do aesthetically to make your posts stand out is a point in your favor. Even if you’re not a design master, there are plenty of social media post templates to help you whip up some eye-catching imagery.
4. Collaborate with other brands
You know what they say: Teamwork makes the dream work. When brands collaborate on new releases or campaign ideas, both parties get a chance to introduce themselves to new audiences.
Both co-marketing and co-branding campaigns bring engagement from the jump. Not only that, but collaboration is a surefire way to make positive impressions on other players in your industry. Keep an eye out for strategic partnerships as you watch over your industry’s content landscape. You never know who could be the best fit for your dream team.
5. Harness the power of hashtags
Do hashtags work anymore? According to 72% of our LinkedIn community, the answer is yes. Every now and then a viral hot take will try to force hashtagging into an early grave. Fret not, my fellow marketers, the hashtag is alive and well. If you’re choosing relevant, brand-applicable hashtags, they’re a surefire way to increase impressions on your posts.
When choosing which hashtags to include in your posts, consider both the network you’re posting on and the trends that are driving conversations at the moment. Take this Halloween-themed TikTok from Heinz, for example: This video uses two different hashtag strategies. First, they came up with a hashtag campaign (#VegetarianVampire) to introduce their new spooky season character. Then, they used a hashtag that’s almost constantly trending on TikTok (#WhatIEatInADay) to push the video to a wider audience. These hashtags work together to establish and amplify the Heinz brand.
6. Take it to the comments
As more networks experiment with algorithmically ranked comment sections, marketers are gaining new territory to make their brands known. Take this viral content series from creator Emily Zugay. Her hilarious redesigns of famous logos had brands rushing to her comments for their turn in the spotlight. The top comments on her most popular post have over a hundred thousand likes each. On top of that, this video has been liked over 6 million times. That’s some seriously valuable brand exposure for every brand that’s secured a top spot in the comment section.
As you scroll through your social feed, keep an eye out for viral posts that relate to your brand or industry. When it comes to brand awareness, there’s no shame in riding on coattails.
7. Repurpose your content
If you’re like most marketers, you’re probably trying to boost brand awareness across multiple networks.
In that case, it’s important to repurpose your content to fit in with the best practices of each platform. After all, what works best on Instagram might not be prime for Facebook or Twitter.
Check out these two posts from You Need a Budget to see what we mean. Hey Nashville, YNABers! Busy this weekend? 😉 We’d love to see you at our first ever YNAB Gathering!! 🥳We’ll have special guests, games, prizes and swag! Oh, and did I mention it’s free to attend? 🤩 Tickets are limited so don’t wait to claim yours!https://t.co/Y4pZUkd0cZ
— You Need A Budget (@ynab) October 13, 2022 Both posts drive to the same call to action. However, the Tweet is much shorter and to the point. The Facebook post, on the other hand, relies on an eye-catching visual and emojis to stand out in newsfeeds.
It just goes to show that one-size-fits-all content and captions aren’t going to win your brand much attention.
Photos. Videos. Blogs. Your stuff. Other people’s stuff.
To keep your feed from growing stale, you should always have new social media ideas on the back burner to keep your feed fresh.
8. Share a distinct point of view
Stats. Case studies. Surveys.
If your brand is conducting any sort of original research, it can be a huge authority booster that does wonders for brand awareness, too. And if you’re not in a position where such research is possible, don’t panic.
Consider how you can comment on industry trends and happenings from your point of view. For example, our social team put their own spin on third-party data from AdWeek by adding a specific call to action for B2B marketers. The takeaway here is that you should be contributing to the ongoing conversation of your industry at large versus just sitting on the sidelines.
9. Experiment with social copy
We’ve talked a lot about visuals, but text is yet another opportunity to showcase your brand’s social persona. Use your copy to pique people’s interest and encourage engagement, giving a sort of taste to readers before they click through.
You can look to The Cut for inspiration on this one. Their Tweets always pair perfectly with article link previews, creating a post you can’t help but click. Fashion month may have finally come to an end this week, but we’ve already got a different sort of street style to look forward to: Carrie Bradshaw and the girls are back https://t.co/NXY5uYpWXr
— The Cut (@TheCut) October 16, 2022 Don’t count out the power of a well-crafted text post. Once you find your brand voice, it can be a prime opportunity for connecting with followers and letting them know exactly who you are.
10. Use social as a teaching tool
Educational and “how-to” content is widely sought after on just about every social network. We surveyed consumers for The Sprout Social Index™ 2022 and found that the top two types of content they like to see from brands are posts that highlight a product or service and real customer demos. Posting such content regularly positions you both as a positive resource and a thought leader. The more opportunities to show off your brand’s product or know-how, the better.
11. Partner with creators
The creator economy is thriving. A new crop of trendsetters and thought leaders rises up every other week. No matter what industry you work in, there’s probably a social media content creator making waves with your target audience. That’s probably why marketers rank connecting with new audiences as the second most popular reason for collaborating with creators. When you think about it, it’s kind of like the online equivalent of getting introduced to someone through a mutual friend.
12. Show up consistently
Finally, consider that nobody can truly be aware of your brand if you don’t post consistently.
According to The Sprout Social Index, 74% of consumers think brands should post 1-2 times per day. To help you save time and to make the process of showing up easier, having a scheduling tool such as Sprout on deck can be a game-changer. The more ground you and your brand can cover, the better. It all comes down to having a specific strategy which makes the most out of the time you spend on social media.
And with that, we conclude our list!
Take your brand awareness strategy to the next level
Building buzz around your brand takes an eye for both experimentation and data. Try new things, report on what works, rinse, repeat.

Marketers are expected to juggle multiple social profiles and keep them up-to-date with fresh posts. It’s tough. Your followers are hungry for new content and you’re expected to deliver consistently. But when you constantly recycle the same posts again and again, your social feeds start to feel like Groundhog Day.
That’s why brands need to have multiple social media ideas in their back pocket. Below we’ve broken down 23 social media ideas for brands both big and small. Each of these types of posts is fair game for those looking to keep their social feeds from growing stale.
If you’re already in a content rut, or just want some new ideas, download our content strategy checklist—this piece walks you through how to identify the issues and start producing creative, high-performing content. 1. Plan social media posts for every day of the week
Want to make your social feed feels more like an event versus a laundry list of random posts?
Start a series for each weekday to create an opportunity to interact with your fans and followers on a regular basis. By providing relevant content at a consistent clip, you can build a habit among your audience to look forward to seeing specific content from your brand.
A regular schedule shows your community what to expect and even offers something to look forward to. Plus, it gives your team a template to follow, so it’s relatively quick and easy to produce.
You can use Sprout’s best times to post tool to help you identify the right time to publish your content too.
Here are a few social media posts ideas to fill up your content calendar from Monday to Sunday:
What to post on social media on a Monday
Help your followers start the week on a high note with some Monday inspiration. You can share a motivational quote or video that’s relevant to your audience.
For example, on our Sprout Social Instagram, we published a Stories series called Sproutouts. Every Monday, we would share inspiration and helpful social media content for the week ahead. You can also post an aesthetically pleasing photo or video. Basically, use Monday content to share something positive!
What to post on a Tuesday
Tuesday is for #TransformationTuesday. Post a before-and-after photo or video to show how your brand helped a customer transform. This idea is great for salons, personal trainers, contractors and other industries that provide a service, but almost any brand could implement it if you think outside the box.
For instance, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust posted the journey of a orphan warthog: This time last year, tiny orphan buffalo Mkubwa was babysitting even tinier orphan warthog Scooter. Now Scooter has her own adopted mini-me to take care of, in the form of Sprite, while Mkubwa is evidently seeking an office-based role at our Field HQ! #TransformationTuesday pic.twitter.com/Df674AKicj
— Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (@SheldrickTrust) October 18, 2022 What to post on a Wednesday
Everyone loves some good hump day content. Think of Wednesdays as an opportunity to provide a mid-week social pick-me-up.
What to post on a Thursday
Use Thursdays to inform and educate your audience with helpful tips and tricks. This content can focus on your brand, but you can also offer general advice that’s relevant to your industry. What to post on a Friday
Bookend the work week with engaging posts. The weekend is near, so give your followers the opportunity to interact with some fun content. Include a call to action in your caption or a sticker on your Instagram to get your audience engaged.
What to post on a Saturday
Staying on the weekend trend, use Saturday to post light-hearted, entertaining content. Show how your brand can help customers enjoy their weekend by showing product imagery or sharing how your social team enjoys their time off.
What to post on a Sunday
#SelfcareSunday is a popular hashtag for good reason. Help your customers relax, unwind and reflect before the week ahead by sharing inspirational content like a quote or a link to a resource. 2. Ask your audience questions
Asking your audience questions is a surefire way to boost your engagement. An example of a popular Instagram post idea is using question stickers in Stories. You can also ask a question in a caption, like Crumbl Cookies did below–anything is fair game. 3. Share influencer content
Consider working with influencers to create sponsored or collaborative content. But how do you find the right influencers for your brand? Authenticity is the second most important qualification for creators working with brands, according to The Sprout Social Index™, so focus on influencers who share a similar audience with your brand.
Also, if you find any videos that mention your brand from influencers, ask permission to re-share the content on your brand’s profile. It’s a quick and easy way to show your audience who else enjoys your brand.
4. Support a cause
Demonstrate your brand values by posting your support for a cause. For example, the North Face posted this Tweet about their 15-year-long partnership with several breast cancer prevention organizations: For over 15 years, we’ve partnered with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) and Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP).
Our Explore Fund proudly supports their work for wellness and recovery outdoors.
— The North Face (@thenorthface) October 12, 2022 The tweet also shares a link to their Pink Ribbon Collection, which is supported by North Face’s Explore fund. Showing support online is a great way to help build your brand authenticity, so don’t shy away from the causes that are important to your business.
5. Run a contest or giveaway
People can’t resist the power of free stuff. Social media contests are one of the most impactful social media activities when it comes to potential engagement from followers.
According to data from HubSpot, sweepstakes are the most popular type of contest and brands gain an average of 17,500 new followers when they use them.
Crazy, right? But when you look at how much love posts like this one from Crumbl Cookies receive, those numbers don’t seem so farfetched: Crumbl hosts giveaways frequently, but this post is unique because the cookie brand offered a larger giveaway to celebrate earning three million followers.
But you don’t have to have such a big follower count to run a contest. And you don’t need a third-party solution or service either—all you need is a combination of the following: Something to give away. Ideally, the prize for your contest should somehow be related to your brand (think: free products or a membership). Big-ticket, unrelated items tend to attract freebie-seekers that won’t translate into long-term followers.
Terms and conditions. To cover yourself legally, terms and conditions are a must for your contest. This template from Shortstack can clue you in on exactly what you need. Additionally, these points will make your contest seem legitimate and not like a potential scam.
A point of contact. On your terms and conditions page, make sure to leave an email address where people can get in touch with questions or concerns.
A way to enter. Whether it’s through user-generated content or a branded hashtag, asking followers to post about your brand is the best way to encourage entries. After all, the purpose of a giveaway is brand awareness, not just to give away free stuff. Oh, and hashtags are by far the simplest means of keeping track of who entered your contest for free. You can use social media management tools like Sprout to help you monitor and identify all the posts with your branded hashtag.
You don’t need to run contests week after week to reap the rewards. Contests can spike your follower count and engagement, but they’re also a great social media idea for campaigns you’re looking to enhance, such as new product launches.
6. Host an AMA
An ask me anything (AMA) series represents an awesome opportunity to educate and engage with your followers. AMA’s are essentially Q&A sessions where you get to share your knowledge, experiences and insight.
From sharing success stories to personal challenges, such sessions can be compelling for audiences and brands alike. Your audience will appreciate the insight, but also consider how an AMA ticks the following boxes for brands: You get to show off your personal side, showcasing the face behind the curtain of your business.
You raise awareness for your brand without being pushy or salesy about it.
You learn more about the concerns and interests of your audience. If you have a large team, you can encourage each member to conduct their own AMA over time to give a sort of big-picture view of your brand.
7. Conduct a social media takeover
Sometimes refreshing your social feeds means letting someone else take over.
Takeovers put the reins of your social accounts in someone else’s hands, usually for 24 hours.
Handing off your social presence to an influencer or celebrity with a massive, active audience is a prime way to get your brand in front of some new faces and inject a new voice into your account if you’re running short on social media post ideas. You can also let someone else in your company take over your account to give your feed some flavor.
Consider business partners and industry relationships that could be good candidates for a takeover. The purpose of a takeover is to get exposure, so ideally choose someone whose audience demographic is relevant to your own.
8. Share, pin, retweet and regram
Don’t be afraid to let your fans, followers and peers do the talking.
Remember, not all of the content on your social feed has to be your own—in fact, it shouldn’t be. Promoting other relevant brands, articles and photos from your followers is a great approach that shows you’re part of your industry’s conversation.
For example, Sprout recently shared a New York Times article about how Gen Z uses TikTok as a search engine because it’s relevant to followers curious about the world of marketing and social media. As noted in our guide on the best times to post on social media, brands should strive to follow the 80/20 rule of promotion. That is, your feeds should be made up of 80% entertaining and engaging content and only 20% promotional content. This keeps your feed from feeling like a sales pitch.
If nothing else, a regram or Retweet is quick and easy. Lean on user-generated content and add a new caption when you repost like Mejuri did in this TikTok: 9. Create short-form video clips
Video content strategy has become a must for modern brands. Unfortunately, many see the investment in video as being too complicated, expensive or out of their reach.
The Sprout Social Index reports short-form video as the most engaging type of in-feed content. Consumers also find short-form videos 2.5x more engaging than long-form ones.
With stats like that, brands should give some serious thought to creative social media ideas that incorporate video.
Of course, short-form video clips are the bread and butter of TikTok and Instagram Reels, but they’re also perfect for Twitter and Facebook. You can even try out YouTube Shorts. These bite-sized clips usually require minimal editing, can be shot quickly and are prime for sharing.
Here’s a good example from Clinique: Brainstorm short, creative clips to keep your followers entertained.
10. Repurpose your content
Think about the planning, effort and sheer amount of time it takes to create any piece of content. Doesn’t it make sense to squeeze as much as you can out of every blog post or video you make?
For every blog post you write or video you shoot, you should consider additional ideas for promoting it on social media beyond its original format. For example, you can pull a quote from your content and repurpose it into a share-friendly image via Canva.
Or, you can repurpose your YouTube videos into social-specific posts like this: ❓ Social listening can help you answer: 1. What content does our audience want to see?2. How do we stack up against competitors? 3. What does our audience need?4. Who are our influencers?5. How can we manage a crisis? ▶️ Watch the full video: https://t.co/Xcm03kMOeI pic.twitter.com/NdMKpPrqzz
— Sprout Social (@SproutSocial) September 14, 2022 Now, imagine if you repurposed every blog post you wrote or video you published. You’d have a pretty good backlog of shareable content, right?
Repurposing your content not only breathes new life into old or less popular posts, but also keeps your followers from getting bored of the same message shared over and over.
11. Team up with another brand
Co-marketing is a win-win situation. Two brands team up on a campaign or piece of content such as a webinar, ebook or even a special promotion, and each company gets exposure to the other’s audience.
Look for brands to partner with that aren’t competitors but have a similar target audience. For instance, Sprout has partnered with companies like Wistia and Zendesk to create webinars and ebooks.
We also recently partnered with Salesforce:
Social media is the ideal platform for co-marketing campaign ideas because it’s so easy to sync up your efforts.
12. Develop how-tos and tutorials
Blog articles are a good medium to break down step-by-step instructions, but social media can be just as effective. Tasty produces Instagram and TikTok videos of mouth-watering recipes that are broken down into actionable steps. Each video is short and to the point, while remaining comprehensive. When thinking of tutorial topics, keep it to ideas you can explain in about a minute. You can score bonus points if your Instagram caption can also explain all of the necessary steps.
13. Go live
Live video is the third most engaging type of in-feed social content, partly because consumers are looking for authentic, less-produced experiences with brands.
Whether you’re vlogging from your car or conducting a Q&A session, responding to people in real time establishes a more personal connection with your followers.
The best part? You can always repurpose your live video content down the line. For example, we posted a Live on our Instagram: Some people in your audience might not be able to join live, so giving them the option to go back on their own time is a great way to keep them engaged.
14. Give customers the spotlight
What better way to show your customers you appreciate them than giving them a shout-out?
Go beyond retweeting people who mention your brand and start a campaign that really highlights your customers.
For example, you could have a customer of the week program highlighting your most loyal advocates, hooking them up with some swag or a prize.
Sprout highlights customers’ case studies. In addition to showing appreciation for companies that use our software, such studies also provide prospective customers with social media ideas they can employ themselves.
Warby Parker frequently showcases their customers. In this Tweet, the eyewear brand congratulates a customer on their new job and fresh pair of lenses: The more appreciation you show your customers and followers, the more likely they are to share your content and promote your business on your behalf. Plus, showcasing your customers with real, authentic reviews and testimonials proves people enjoy your brand’s products and/or services.
15. Conduct an interview
Serving as an alternative to a traditional Q&A session, social media has made it arguably easier than ever to conduct interviews.
Whether through Twitter or Facebook Live, interviewing a relevant influencer or professional in your industry serves as the perfect combination of education and entertainment. You can ask your followers to submit questions or you can ask questions that would be interesting to your audience.
In this video by Nike, the sportswear brand asked guests who their favorite athletes are: Social interviews are oftentimes informal and off-the-cuff, coming off as authentic to your audience. As an added bonus, you can repurpose your social interviews into podcasts, blog posts and YouTube videos.
16. Make a meme
Brands shouldn’t be afraid to show off their sense of humor.
While marketing with memes isn’t for everyone, social media itself is a breeding ground for humorous images and satire. As evidenced by brands such as Chubbies, there’s certainly a time and place for memes. Keep in mind that memes do have a shelf life. If your audience isn’t privy to humor, memes can come off as cringe-worthy and out of touch. That said, many brands with younger audiences and a heavy social presence could benefit from some lighthearted content.
17. Take advantage of trending topics
Sometimes the best social media ideas come to you when you least expect them.
Trending topics on Twitter and Facebook represent a way for brands to capitalize on topical content. While you have a limited window of opportunity for such content to be relevant, topical posts can score huge numbers.
A less time-sensitive way to stay topical is by referencing a big event that you know is coming. For example, when Rihanna announced her Super Bowl 2023 halftime performance, several brands parodied her original tweet where the pop singer holds a football–like Dairy Queen, who posted a tattooed hand holding a Blizzard: Joining the conversation is important, but avoid political or potentially sensitive topics. There’s nothing worse than dealing with a public relations nightmare because you tried to be clever.
18. Ask followers to tag a friend
An easy way to get more eyes on your social feeds is the mere act of asking.
Tag-a-friend posts encourage responses from your followers and bring new potential followers into the fold. Considering how easy it is to @-mention someone in a comment, tacking on a tag-a-friend request to a post is fairly straightforward. Brands regularly ask followers to tag their friends and family via Instagram.
While you don’t need to ask for tags in each and every post, doing so is a good way to encourage a response from a post that otherwise might not receive much engagement.
19. Run a social-exclusive deal
Although brands shouldn’t push their followers too hard with offers and deals, social media features such as Facebook carousel ads can help you score a financial ROI from your social presence.
You can also promote a sale through your Instagram shop or a Tweet, like Lilly’s Kloset did below: The beauty of running ads within social media is that they’re easy to track. For example, Facebook’s ad platform provides an enormous amount of information in terms of who’s seeing your ads, who’s clicking and how much your clicks are worth. Meanwhile, running exclusive coupon codes on Twitter or Instagram can help you understand what percentage of your followers is willing to spend.
20. Poll your audience
If social media has taught us anything, it’s that people love to share their opinions.
Social media features such as Twitter polls are a one-click way to get a pulse on your followers. This poll from Coca-Cola represents a playful but effective example: Polls don’t need to be a formal affair, nor do they need to be sales-related. Social media represents a conversation, so be willing to listen to your follower’s feedback.
21. Respond to your followers
Social media is conversational, so brands should always be willing to talk back to their followers. Your audience’s time is valuable and taking the time to respond shows your brand cares.
Whether it’s praise, a customer concern or just someone looking to say “Hello,” your responses can speak volumes about your brand. Chick-fil-A regularly responds to their followers, speaking to how much they value customer care.
In this tweet, the fast food brand responds to a family who posted a dinner photo at their local restaurant: Chick-Fil-A for dinner b/c waiting fir my oldest son to get off work. Then off to a local haunted maze like heathens. pic.twitter.com/WuslAMzbQt
— Long “Nemo in Exile” Hoang (@hoanglong100) October 15, 2022 We’re in an era where social customer care is essential, so you can’t afford to go silent on your followers.
22. Go behind the scenes
At their core, brands represent people. Don’t let that personal element of your social feed fall by the wayside.
The Washington Post constantly shows off their office antics, much to the amusement of their followers. In this example, the news publication gives us a look inside a photoshoot for their podcast: Giving your followers a “behind the scenes” look at your company signals authenticity. Got a designated office mascot? Throwing a party? Let your followers see what you see.
23. Share a milestone
Last but not least, brands should be willing to celebrate their success and victories with followers. Featured in a major publication? Reach a sales goal? Stoked about a new hire? Upgraded to a new office?
Let your followers know. Sharing these moments with your audience shows your human side while signaling your brand’s growth. This is also a great B2B social media post idea because you don’t have to rely on an aesthetically pleasing product visual, like on Instagram or TikTok.
Canva used this Tweet to celebrate their newest suite of features: Again, effective social media ideas aren’t just about your product or service. Telling your brand’s story and showing what you’re worth based on your accomplishments can truly cement your company’s status in the eyes of your audience.

Entra Megan Thee Stallion.

Joining the social team at Sprout has given me a crash course in brand authenticity on social media. A lot of marketers talk about the importance of authentically connecting with your audience on social media but for us, these qualities aren’t just the nucleus of our social strategy—it’s part of Sprout’s core values.
Our team’s mission is to build a social presence that’s genuine, approachable and engaging for a wide variety of audiences, all while using social to support our larger business goals. That means building awareness and perception of our brand as well as creating raving fans. So in my day-to-day, I focus on connecting with our audience through initiatives like Year in Social, developing attention-grabbing content and engaging proactively and reactively with our community.
Additionally, I’ve learned how to leverage industry data, our performance metrics, social listening analysis and strategic intuition to create a social strategy that puts authenticity front and center. I’ve also learned the value of collaborating across teams, especially with our public relations team.
In this article, I’ll share why brand authenticity is crucial to creating meaningful connections with your audience and outline the steps to creating a social strategy that blends data, brand values and creativity. I’ll also share a free downloadable worksheet that you and your team can use to brainstorm and put these steps into practice.
What is brand authenticity?
Brand authenticity refers to if consumers believe a brand is genuine about their products/services, promises to customers and their brand values.
In the age of social media, brands can’t hide anything from their customers. Your audiences can find out everything they need to know about your business from other consumers, media and the internet.
Companies can’t just “talk the talk” anymore. For example, it would be unwise to claim that you’re devoted to customer service if you never respond to their messages on social media.
Honesty is an integral part of being an authentic business, but there’s more to it. You’ll also have to uphold a certain integrity level, including transparency, because today’s consumers are aware–they know brands are trying to sell a product or service.
According to the Twitter #RealTalk report, 80% of respondents agree they don’t mind being sold to on social media as long as “it’s fun, useful, entertaining, informative or moves me in some way.” Brands be like “We know this is a difficult time. We are all in this together. Please enjoy 20% off our WACKY, BENDY KRAZYSTRAWS™️. Use Code “Pandemic” at checkout.”
— jon drake (@DrakeGatsby) April 4, 2020 Fashion Nova finna be like “We just SLAPPED 40% off your whole order so you can Chris Rock whatever you want this summer ☀️❤️😘»
— malik burgers (@macburgz) March 28, 2022 Every brand makes promises to its customers, but you need to take additional effort to prove you’re delivering and following through with your claims, especially now that call out culture is stronger than ever. People know they are being sold to and they aren’t shy about speaking up when they sense a lack of authenticity or dishonesty.
If you want to do a quick gut check of your brand’s authenticity, ask yourself these questions: Do you deliver what you promise to your customers in terms of service, experience and product features?
Are you true to the values that your business claims to have? Does your messaging and mission change constantly?
Is your business consistent in delivering value? How do you make sure you’re serving clients properly? Why is brand authenticity important on social media?
People join social platforms to connect with family and friends, stay informed, get inspired and more. The better social media marketers can understand people’s motivations for using social, the better we can develop strategies that reach and engage them.
Our #BrandsGetReal data report found that when consumers feel connected to brands, more than half of consumers (57%) will increase their spending with that brand and 76% will buy from them over a competitor.
But how can brands create the real connection people want from them? By focusing on the three key elements that make consumers feel connected to brands on social: shared values, transparency and authenticity.
According to the 2022 Sprout Social Index™, company alignment with personal values is 74% more important to consumers than it was in 2021. Of course, your products and services are still important, but consumer preferences are fueled by shared values and beliefs. And consumers want brands to demonstrate transparency by illustrating how important these values are to brands on their social media.
Some 71% of consumers think it’s important for brands to raise awareness and take a stand on sensitive issues, while 48% of marketers believe businesses need to speak out on social issues to stay relevant on social media.
This is partly why more companies are adopting and embracing holistic brand activism. It’s also why public relations and social teams need to work together.
Since a brand’s online presence is tied to brand image and voice, collaborating with social media teams is essential to managing an organization’s communications. When executed properly, it can improve your brand awareness.
Plus, this partnership can also help public relations professionals practice brand safety and crisis communication. A social post that goes against a company’s proclaimed values can easily skyrocket into a PR crisis. Our data from the Sprout Social Index™ also showed US consumers are craving authenticity across the board—it’s even listed as the second most important creator trait. Consumers want to see genuine, less-produced content that highlights a product or service in a bona fide way.
Anyone can blast out promotional messages. But developing a social media strategy that embodies authenticity and demonstrates transparency and brand values to create a real connection with your audience—while delivering on your social and business goals—is a different story.
The challenges and rewards of building brand authenticity into your social strategy
While I’m very selective about what I post on my personal accounts, when I’m representing @SproutSocial, I have to be even more thoughtful about the brand we’re building. I ask myself these questions: Is what we’re posting relatable and/or relevant to our audience?
Does our audience feel like we really get them?
Are we being true to our brand and our honest stance?
Do we have an effective mix of content, tailored for our audience on each channel?
Across all of the different team members representing us on social, are we sending quick, empathetic and engaging responses? To answer these questions, I have to truly understand our audience. It’s one thing to know your demographics on a given platform; it’s another to really have your finger on the pulse of what your audience cares about, and what makes them tick and interested in your brand.
Even when you do have that understanding, you have to translate that into a strategy that serves up the content, support and community that people want from your brand. Balance that with your responsibility to actively promote your organization and its products, services or cause, and your social strategy becomes increasingly complex.
This is tough for a lot of social pros—our research discovered that social execution is the third biggest challenge for social media teams.
But, don’t fret, let’s go over my steps for building brand authenticity.
How to build brand authenticity: 3 steps to start today
Step 1: Take a deep dive into understanding your audience
Quantitative and qualitative data are both important when it comes to knowing your audience like you know your best friends….or like I know Taylor Swift. In my work, I rely on six core inputs to make sure I have a holistic understanding of Sprout’s audience:
1. Audience data
Whether it’s looking at overall demographics or reading an individual’s personal profile, there are a lot of data points you can gather about your audience on social. When I’m in the Sprout Inbox, I find Profile Cards really helpful—you can hover to see a snapshot about an individual or click in for more information and detailed conversation history.
2. Content performance
I look at Sprout’s Reporting tab daily to check in on how our posts are performing and our audience’s response to our content. I also work with our paid social strategist to conduct a quarterly analysis of all of our social creative (videos, images, GIFs, ads and so on) to see what’s performing best in terms of impressions, engagements, clicks, downloads and more.
3. Social listening
Through social listening tools like Sprout Social, you see what people really think of your brand. Social listening helps you find patterns and evaluate trends around the topics and content that resonate with your audience the most across your social networks. With Sprout, you can also track what followers are saying about competitors.
You can use listening to better understand the questions, opinions and sentiment your audience feels around your industry or brand, as well as the overall demographics of an audience talking about a certain topic or brand. 4. Cross-team collaboration
There are probably more teams I do collaborate with than teams I don’t.
I speak regularly with our sales and customer support teams to share information about our audience, the feedback we’re receiving and what our customers care about.
But my partnership with our public relations team has become extremely significant. We collaborate to amplify Sprout’s voice and carry out our public relations marketing efforts. Working together frequently allows us to maintain cohesive brand storytelling across our social handles and media coverage.
5. Diversity, equity and inclusion
Championing diversity, equity and inclusion is one of Sprout’s core values, so I make sure to illustrate how important it is to us on social media. Brands like Sprout are already rewriting the rules on inclusion. Being inclusive will make your brand more authentic and relatable to a wider range of experiences and cultures within your audience.
Our social shopping report shows that 60% of consumers say they’re more likely to buy from a brand with inclusive marketing, another testament that brand diversity in social media isn’t just a fad.
But just one or two posts during a cultural heritage month isn’t going to cut it. Marketers and public relations teams need to show how their brands are supporting inclusive campaigns throughout the year on social. We collaborate with diverse creators because it can bring your teams new insight into what could resonate with your target audience. It’s a great way to show your brand values diverse cultural and creative expertise. Plus, leveraging their perspective on ideas and execution can help you avoid cultural appropriation.
6. My experience
While hard data is a great foundation, talking to our audience via the Sprout Inbox over the years has honed my intuition as a social media manager. I’m in the weeds of social media every day, learning what our community wants, what content resonates and what questions they need answered.
Our community is also unique because our audience consists of social media practitioners across every industry and team size. I get to learn from them about their strategy, wins and challenges every day.
It’s impossible to perfectly predict a winning social approach every time, but my experience guides me in turning all of the inputs I’ve mentioned above into more holistic takeaways.
Step 2: Turn audience insight and goals into social strategy
Take the same deep-dive approach you applied to your audience to think about how you can build brand authenticity through your social content. What are your brand’s values?
What differentiates your brand?
Why do employees and customers choose your brand over others?
What stories from within your organization aren’t you sharing? Consider using our “open, real and empathetic” framework. We have a downloadable template you can use with your team to turn ideas for becoming more authentic on social into strategy.
Download Now
First, brainstorm how your brand can create real connection by identifying ways you can be more transparent and the brand values, interests or affinities that matter the most to your customers. Consider what specifically you can share and how it aligns with your audience.
Next, think about two or three social goals for your brand. Last but most importantly, think through potential content ideas to fuel your strategy.
Engagement is a great opportunity to show off your brand’s personality. Think about how you can interact with your community and create genuine moments of connection every day, and build that into your strategy and priorities as well.
People can sense generic responses from a mile away, so one of our top priorities is personalizing every interaction. For example, you can use people’s names or reference a prior conversation with your brand using conversation history.
After you pinpoint the greatest opportunities for your brand to showcase more of your beliefs, culture and stories on social, it’s time to share with the rest of your team. You can share your strategy via a presentation or a written document or video, but the most important thing is to communicate to the rest of your organization why focusing on brand authenticity will make a difference.
Step 3: Measure success and iterate
A focus on brand authenticity and connection, when done right, will result in more conversation around your brand. As a social media manager, you’ll feel more connected to your audience because they feel more connected to you. You’ll find that your insight and intuition are more often on point, validated by audience responses and content performance.
At Sprout, our team tracks social impressions and engagements as the primary indicators toward success in our awareness, perception and customer goals. When we’re delivering more engaging and genuine content, we see these numbers grow. More importantly, we hear online and off that our customers feel more connected, and when we ask for feedback, we get more of it (both positive and constructive).
We also test different types of content to learn what people like the most. For example, we have a few different social copy formats that we use as a go-to when promoting Insights articles. We’ll try formats like: Using bullet points or a list to call out key takeaways (example)
Asking a question (example)
Highlighting a statistic, quote or brand example from within the piece (example) Observing the performance of these different types of posts helps us understand how our audience wants to consume content and what positioning actually moves them to click and read the full article.
Brand authenticity examples to learn from
Now that you have the steps for creating your own strategy, let’s review some examples of companies who embody brand authenticity:
Fenty Beauty
Fenty Beauty is known for its wide range of makeup products for people of all skin tones and types. Along with showcasing diverse models on social media, the beauty brand encourages user-generated content. By curating user-generated content, they’re able to show the diversity of their customers and help potential new customers explore what they might look like in a Fenty face. They also demonstrate how much they care about their audience by referring to their followers as “the Fenty family” and hosting giveaways and contests like the #TheNextFentyFace. Leveraging user-generated content can help build a sense of connection to your brand by seeing other real people who love it—and when people feel connected to a brand, our research shows 68% say they’re more likely to recommend that brand to friends.
It’s also great for your social media budget. If you earn a groundswell of word-of-mouth recommendations and customer advocacy—as well as pictures, videos and testimonials from fans that your social team can use as content—that frees up more of your advertising budget to reach new markets, test a hypothesis or focus on campaigns further down the funnel.
North Face
The North Face’s social presence is another great example of being real and empathetic. In this video, the brand showcases how their jackets are more than just a protective layer—it’s an item connected to the stories and memories of their customers. It puts the viewer directly into the North Face’s products while providing a relatable, welcoming window into what the brand cares about.
On their TikTok, they showcase adventurous sports like bouldering, hang gliding and snowboarding—all key interests to their audience. Chobani
Chobani uses their Twitter to highlight their brand activism. If you scroll down their timeline, you’ll notice that they’re constantly amplifying what the brand is doing to address important issues such as child hunger, food insecurity and natural disaster relief. Students who rely on free meals at school are left without a plan when schools close for Spring Break. That’s why over 50 Chobani employees came together in Twin Falls, ID, to pack 3000 meals, 5200 snacks, Greek Yogurt & milk to fill feed students who rely on these meal programs. pic.twitter.com/TVMyLSyCHk
— Chobani (@Chobani) March 21, 2022 They also accomplish this by sharing facts about the environment: The yogurt brand balances this with light-hearted content on their Twitter, but what’s most important is that they show up throughout the year for the initiatives that are important to them and their audience.
Take the brand authenticity org-wide
Building a brand that’s authentic, meaningful and unique isn’t just the role of the social team or of the marketing team. Every employee has a hand in shaping processes, communications, designs and products/services that ultimately influence your customers’ experience and perception of your brand.
For that reason, it’s critical that you share your efforts with other teams. We’re always looking for opportunities to translate social insights about our customers into value for the entire company.
I hope this article has given you some inspiration for how to bring greater brand authenticity to your social strategy and even inspire the rest of your organization.
Another large part of crafting brand authenticity is crisis management. If you’re ready to learn more, read our social media crisis management guide. Source link

4. Conoce a tu audiencia
Discord: ponte creativo y divertido
Liderazgo intelectual propio y ganado

Selling on Instagram isn’t as simple as posting product photos and calling it a day. If you want to turn your fans and followers into actual customers, you’re going to need a strategy.
In this guide, we break down how to sell on Instagram, starting with the fundamentals and moving on to advanced Instagram selling strategies. You’ll learn how to use Reels, Stories and other Instagram features to capture the attention of Instagram users and drive sales of your products. Why businesses should sell products on Instagram
Not convinced Instagram is where you need to be? These three compelling reasons should be motivation enough to start selling products on Instagram:
People are researching products on Instagram
Because Instagram is a visual medium, it’s no surprise that 70% of shoppers research products on the platform. Having a business profile is a good first step, but you’ll also want a store that people can visit to research your products.
Younger consumers expect you to be on Instagram
When it comes to marketing to Gen Z, these younger consumers rely on Instagram to discover and engage with brands. And your presence (or lack thereof) on Instagram can have a big influence on Gen Z buying behaviors.
Your competitors are selling on Instagram
With more than 200 million businesses on Instagram, it’s wise to assume your competitors are already selling products on the platform. So don’t delay in setting up your Instagram shop (which we’ll tell you how to do in the next section).
How to set up Instagram shopping
To start selling on Instagram, you’ll need to have an Instagram business profile. You can convert your personal Instagram account to an Instagram business account in just a few steps. Only then you can create your Instagram shop (we recommend taking a look at Instagram’s commerce policies first).
Next, head over to the Meta Commerce Manager to set up your Instagram shop. You can choose to create a shop for both Instagram and Facebook, or only one of those platforms. What are the best practices for selling on Instagram?
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to selling your products on Instagram.
That said, some strategies make more sense than others depending on your target audience and what you’re selling.
Below we’ve highlighted best practices for selling on Instagram.
Sell yourself in your bio
Your Instagram bio is valuable real estate, especially if you’re interested in sales.
After all, your bio link represents the sole avenue from your follower to your storefront if you’re not connected to Instagram Shopping.
Make sure that your bio includes a combination of the following: A call-to-action directing followers to your shop
A mention of your branded hashtags to encourage user-generated content
A trackable link (think: SproutLink or a shoppable Instagram tool) to monitor traffic to your storefront Post regularly
Instagram is a crowded medium, and if you want people to notice your brand, you need to post regularly. How often is “regularly”? According to Sprout Social Index™ data, the average number of posts on Instagram is 1-2 times a day. If you also share two Instagram Stories per day, you’re likely to improve your engagement.
Post more than just products
This might seem counterintuitive, but hear us out: One of the most effective strategies for selling on Instagram is to not focus on selling. Not all the time, anyway.
If you’re an up-and-coming brand or you’re trying to grow your audience, some non-sales-related content is a great way to warm up potential customers. After all, today’s shoppers expect brands to show off their personalities in various ways.
For example, Suavecito Pomade regularly publishes photos of its products but also sprinkles lighthearted content like memes and dog photos throughout its feed. These types of posts score tons of engagement and can be a gateway for new followers to discover your brand. As noted in our guide to social media for retail, it’s crucial for brands to create content for every step of the customer journey. That includes folks who are warming up to you or might not even know you yet.
As a side note, this illustrates the importance of creating a social media content calendar. With the help of social media management tools like Sprout Social, you can find a balance between promotional and non-promotional content. Doing so ensures that your followers are consistently engaging with your marketing messages.

Research shows that of four types of brand images (customer-centric, employee-centric, product-centric and symbolic visuals), Instagram users spend the most time engaging with customer-centric images.
Instagram users want to see how people are using products in a real-world setting. For example, Camelbak shows off their products in the great outdoors rather than in a photo studio or on a kitchen counter. Frequently featuring photos of people, specifically user-generated content, creates a snowball effect. That is, customers will want to take their own snapshots with your product so you’ll feature them on your feed, too. This results in more engagement and reach, creating even more opportunities to win customers.
Make your product photos pop
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Creativity counts on Instagram—especially if you’re trying to sell products.
Remember that you’re fighting for your customers’ attention, and they’re more than likely following competing brands on Instagram.
Here’s an awesome example from IL MAKIAGE. Although the brand has plenty of customer photos to choose from, they keep their content strategy fresh with eye-popping product shots, as well. You don’t need to be a master photographer to create engaging images. Just review how to capture and format Instagram photos and explore creative filters and apps that can give your snapshots some pizazz.
Use video to showcase your products in action
Depending on the types of products you’re selling, you might want to post more videos than static images. For example, if you’re selling performance bicycles or high-end watches, customers probably want to see those items in action.
Craft compelling captions
Want to avoid bombarding your followers with sales offers? There are plenty of ways to write Instagram captions without coming across as too promotional.
For example, consider how you can show off your products while asking your followers a question. Here’s a great example from Paper Mate. Meanwhile, check out how JOAH manages to put their products front-and-center by asking for a comment. See how that works?
There’s some debate about whether salesy captions restrict your reach as part of the Instagram algorithm. To be safe, experiment with different call-to-action phrases.
How to start selling on Instagram
You’ve set up your shop, created engaging images and fine-tuned your CTAs. Now it’s time to start selling!
Enable checkout on Instagram
You can use Instagram to drive people to your website’s online store, but some users may expect to shop entirely within the Instagram app. You can deliver on that expectation by using checkout on Instagram.
Available for eligible US businesses, checkout on Instagram makes it easy for users to quickly complete a purchase and track order updates within the app. And once they’ve made a purchase, Instagram stores their information for an even faster checkout experience with subsequent purchases. Publish shoppable posts
If you’re a seller based in an eligible country with a product catalog and Instagram shop, you can create Instagram shoppable posts. All you need to do is tag products in your image or video, then share the post. Users can click on the tags to view information about each product.
If you’re running a promotion for one of the products in your image or video, Instagram will tag it automatically, and the CTA bar will be “View Offer” or “View Sale.”
You can also tag your products if you use a social media management tool such as Sprout. Once you compose your post and add an image, select Tag Image followed by the Product Tagging tab. You can search for your product by SKU or name. Use stickers in Instagram Stories
While you can’t add product tags to Stories, you can add a sticker with a clickable Instagram shopping link that takes users to a product page or other content on your site.
Set up product collections
If you’d like to group similar products, you can create collections. Go to Commerce Manager, then: Choose your shop and click Edit.
Click +Add New, then Collection.
Choose Create new collection.
Click Confirm.
Add these details to the Featured Collection section: Images — Add at least one product image (4:3 ratio, with minimum dimensions of 800 x 600 pixels).
Title — Choose a name for your collection (30 characters max).
Text — Add a title and subtitle (30 characters max)(this step is optional). Click Publish. If you have a checkout-enabled Instagram store, you can then add your collection to your Instagram profile shop: From your Instagram profile, click Edit Shop.
Tap Collections, then Add.
Choose the collections you want to display on your profile, then click Done. Users won’t be able to see the collection until Instagram reviews your shop and collection (usually within 24 hours).
Engage with Live Shopping streams
If you have a US-based business with Instagram checkout, and your products have been in your catalog for at least three days, you can use Instagram Live Shopping to sell products in real time and interact with customers.
Here’s how to set up a Live Shopping post: Open Instagram and click Your Story on the top left.
Scroll right and tap LIVE.
Tap the shopping bag icon, then click Add next to the products or collections you want to add.
Tap LIVE again when you’re ready to launch your Live Shopping broadcast.
During your broadcast, you can tap the shopping bag icon, then Pin to highlight a product.
When your broadcast ends, click Download so that users can still make purchases through that post. Showcase products with Reels
You can create dynamic product videos with Reels. Just shoot your video, upload it to Instagram and tag any products you want to add. Then create a cover photo and a call to action.
Promote with Instagram ads
Many brands have found success selling through Instagram ads.
Taking advantage of creative ad types such as Stories and carousels, ads offer tons of flexibility and targeting options to reach customers shopping on Instagram. Plus, you can add an eye-catching CTA that changes from white to a color as users scroll through their feed. In the Vicks example above, the CTA banner coordinates with colors in your ad.
Boost conversions with user-generated content
Many brands are making user-generated content a cornerstone of their Instagram social selling strategies.
Customer photos go hand-in-hand with high engagement rates and let your customers serve as your brand ambassadors. Given how eager consumers are to share product photos, scoring user-generated content is often just a matter of asking.
For example, Grove Collaborative encourages fans and followers to share how they use Grove products on Instagram through their branded hashtags. Grove Collaborative regularly uses customer photos to highlight their latest products with a sense of authenticity—and to show their appreciation for their customers.
User-generated content shows your customers what your products look like in action. This also gives you a break from traditional planned posts and lets you show your products from different angles, so to speak.
Use influencers to amplify your posts
Influencer marketing has exploded as a way for brands to get their products in front of their target audience through a more compelling and relatable manner.
The concept is simple: Partner with someone who has a highly engaged audience to raise awareness for your brand and potentially discover new customers.
Influencer promotions are effective because they don’t feel as “salesy.” Also, some influencers might have more followers than you do.
Forming relationships with relevant influencers is a cost-effective way to get your Instagram social selling promotions in front of people who could become customers.
Promote upcoming product launches with Instagram Drops
US-based businesses with checkout on Instagram can use Instagram Drops (formerly “product launches”) to promote new products. Instagram users can click the Shop tab to search for view featured drops.
Create Instagram product Guides
You can use Instagram Guides to provide an in-depth look at your products and share them in Stories, in direct messages and in your shop. To get started, click the + at the top of your profile and follow the prompts.
Provide support and sell through Instagram Direct
Eligible business accounts can sell products through Instagram Direct. Access your Instagram professional dashboard via mobile only and tap Get paid in chat. Then, when you’re chatting with a customer who wants to buy your product, you can click Request Payment.
You’ll need to enter your bank account information and other details when you accept your first Instagram Direct payment, and the platform will save it for future transactions.
